This is the first of 6 planned volumes describing the flora of the Arabian Peninsula and the Socotran archipelago, covering all of the native flowering plants and ferns (3,500 - 4,000 species) as well as major crop and amenity plants of economic importance.
This volume provides an extensive introduction to the area as a whole with sections on topography and geology, climate, vegetation, floristics, phytogeography and conservation as well as accounts of approximately 700 species. Each species is mapped individually, with notes on ecology and distribution.
